The exhibit environment will be defined by the following museographic components:


Dorset Sitting Bear A total of eight units will be used to sub divide the exhibit into five thematic zones. These two-sided units will be approximately eight feet high by sixteen feet long by three feet deep. The units will feature a light box on one side, for the rear-illumination of eight foot by sixteen foot transparencies, and an exhibit case, on the reverse side, for the display of Skraeling artifacts.

A total of four globes will be distributed throughout the modules. The surface of each globe will feature LED or Fiber Optic based animation sequences, synchronized with the respective audio presentations.


These units, which will measure approximately eight feet in length, by two and a half feet wide, will be in the shape of Viking vessels. The units will be designed to work as display environments for Viking artifacts.

Six to eight seats per area are presently estimated. Seating in Module 2 - 4 will consist of reproduction Viking cargo bales and Skraeling accessories.


The distinctive voice of Gwynne Dyer will captivate the audience as they move through history. Environmental sounds will be woven into the prose to create a dynamic atmosphere. Text panels and binders will provide additional information.
