  Heart's Content Cable Station
Heart's Content Cable Station Experience a time when information could travel from Europe to North America no faster than the ship that carried it.

Learn what a difference it made when the transatlantic telegraph cable transferred that information almost instantaneously.

Visit this site in Heart's Content where the cable was landed in 1866 and where global communications took a giant leap into the future.

Tour exhibits that include a replica 1870s cable office and displays that tell about the laying of the cable and the history of communications.

Watch a twenty-minute film that tells how this amazing feat was accomplished.
